Casablanca: Royal Air Maroc will open its first nonstop service between Los Angeles and Casablanca on 7 June 2026, a major expansion that establishes the first direct air link between Africa and the United States West Coast. The three weekly flights will offer an approximately eleven hour connection and are timed to capture rising transcontinental demand ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The service is positioned to serve multiple high value segments including the Moroccan and African diasporas, leisure travellers, business traffic, and football fans flying to the United States for the global event. Royal Air Maroc Chairman and Chief Executive Hamid Addou said the launch represents a milestone for both the airline and African air connectivity, noting that the route goes beyond network growth and carries strategic importance.

Flights will be operated with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, selected for its long range capability, passenger comfort and modern cabin environment. The new route forms part of the airline’s growth strategy which includes additional aircraft acquisitions and the rollout of new long haul services.

Royal Air Maroc currently links Casablanca with New York, Washington, Miami, Montreal and Toronto. The addition of Los Angeles strengthens the carrier’s North American footprint and supports Morocco’s wider ambition to position itself as a global aviation hub, particularly as the country prepares to co host the FIFA World Cup 2030 with Spain and Portugal.

Tickets for the new service are available through the airline’s website, call centres, sales offices and authorised travel agencies.
